Policies
Hey, we are pretty easy going, but there are a few things that do get to
us and we really do not want happening on the server. Before we get into
all of that, we want you to keep in mind that the Holonet draws Star
Wars fans from all across the globe. With that in mind, remember that
we are all different, and while we all came here because of the common bond
of Star Wars, we cannot manage to talk about it every hour of the day.
(although many of us do!) People are here for a good time and due to the
appeal of Star Wars, a lot of our patronage can be rather young at times.
Do not act inappropriately
Things we will not tolerate
- Warez. If you do not know what it is, do not bother asking. For the
rest of you, the Holonet is not here so you can peddle it to
everyone else. Go elsewhere or face being removed from the
server.
- Porn. Same as above. We will not tolerate you. This is Star Wars
folks; go to a larger, chaotic IRC network if this is what you want to
spend your time online doing. The more depraved you seem, the harder we
will strike back at you.
- Harassment. Please tell us you have better things to do with your
time than being an online stalker. We do not care who you are, or who
you are bothering, if you are going to become desperately abusive, we
are going to have to tell you to stop.
- Nuking. Read the above paragraph and then come back here. Nuking is
abusive. Not only that, it is illegal in the United States and carries a
heavy fine. If you are nuked, tell an IRCop, do not retaliate with a
nuke. Better yet, try to use cloaking, which is a service available on
the holonet to prevent nukers from finding your ip address so that they
can nuke. Type "/mode your_nick +z".
When all else fails, find your client's ignore feature. Usually accessed
by typing something like "/ignore nickname".
And your last bit of advice: If and when an IRCop decides that what you are
doing is against the spirit of the server, it is. They will then deal with
you accordingly.
